Ladies of TIWC:
This is a letter to explain to you an honor the Board
has chosen to bestow on one of our very deserving and out-
standing women, not only of our club but also the community. Dr. Lilian Chao has for many years been a very strong and
supportive active member. It is fitting at this time to
honor her for her dedication and loyal service.
We propose to take a $500,000 Bond (#00805) and title
it the Dr. Lilian Chao Scholarship Fund. The principal will
remain in the hands of TIWC, but the annual interest of this
Bond will be used for scholarships that a committee nominated
to this responsibility will discuss and designate, in the
name of Dr. Chao.
The Board has appointed another Charter member, Cynthia Lee, to act as the chairperson to oversee that the
scholar-
ships will be awarded.
Attached is the autobiography of Dr. Chao.f which briefly
outlines her life. We can all feel proud that this new scholar-
ship fund will remember one of our own and reward deserving
community students.

Very truly yours,
THE TIWC 1982-1983 BOARD
