     Dear President Rybicki and Members of the Taipei International Women's Club,

     It is with deep regret that I am unable to join you as you commemorate the milestone 50th anniversary of the Taipei International Women's Club. Please know, however, that I will be with you in spirit from December 5th to December 8th, as you participate in joyous and meaningful celebration.

     For many years, The Taipei International Women's Club was a loyal and steadfast member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The theme you have chosen for 2001/2002, "Pooling Together to Pull Others Through", echoes the philosophy of GFWC, whose members are dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. And, most appropriately, your membership reflects GFWC's motto: Unity in Diversity.

     The achievements of TIWC over the past 50 years are testaments to the power of determined women working together to create positive change. We are proud of you and salute your strength and substance. The General Federation of Women's Clubs sends best wishes for continuing success and our very warm regards to you all.
